We are sisters Elizabeth Ann Atkins (right) and Catherine Marie Atkins Greenspan (left). We are writers and publishers. We hold short story writing contests and publish the winners each year in an anthology. We created the PowerJournal technique, a blend of meditation and journaling that enable you to open a clear channel to your best self, which knows the truth about who you are, what you want, and how you can get it. Learn more about the PowerJournal Movement here!
We're also ghostwriters! Elizabeth says, "We're literary chameleons." When people hire us to write their books, we take on their unique voice and style. Check out our ghostwriting business at Atkins & Greenspan Writing.
Elizabeth says: Imagine two sisters, drinking steaming coffee… eating M&Ms… and coping with the heart-pounding pressure of a 10-page paper due tomorrow.
As English majors, Catherine and I spent many nights tapping the keyboards of original Macintosh computers – amongst hundreds of other students doing the same – in the computer center in Angell Hall.
As we quoted Maya Angelou and Shakespeare, Catherine and I would get the giggles, fueled by sugar, caffeine, and 3 a.m. delirium. Our hysterical writing binges are some of my best college memories.
Today, as we write books on deadline, we still get the giggles — celebrating that we are still Two Sisters Writing — and now Publishing.
Catherine says: Elizabeth and I are best friends and the biggest cheerleaders for each other. As English majors at the University of Michigan, we let our teamwork shine in an upper-level English class, "Living Writers," with Professor Nicholas Delbanco. Consumed by her job as an editor at The Michigan Daily, Elizabeth seldom read the books before the author's guest appearance in class. I did, and would brief Elizabeth on the plot, themes, characters, etc. Then in class Elizabeth asked the authors some of the most direct, probing questions of all the students! Nobody knew she hadn't even read the book... until now!
