“Whosoever is delighted in solitude, is either a wild beast or a god.”
― Aristotle

A baby bunny... a male and female cardinal... a big white cat... a chipmunk... a blue jay.

All these friendly critters fluttered and scampered around me while doing yoga in the warm summer sunshine.

Mother Nature provided the soundtrack of chirping birds, and the soft breeze rustling in the treetops, along with my favorite Bill Withers song, Steppin' Right Along.  It’s the most soul-stirring rendition of The Lord’s Prayer — and it made me twirl in a joyful dance all by myself.

It was sheer bliss!  Under the vast blue sky and whispy white clouds, I just closed my eyes and savored the sensations of heat and music and skin-tingling joy.  I laughed out loud, and gazed up at the heavens in gratitude for blessing me with the ability to enjoy my own company with so much passion.

By the way, I was high on yoga, nothing else.

I was letting my divine spirit out to play after some really tough moments of late.  Yes, I felt as if I had literally just stepped into the sunshine after escaping a giant, gloomy cloud that had been consuming me in cold, driving rain, biting wind, and debilitating fog.

Call it stress, anxiety, pressure, worry.  Not fun.

So when joyous moments show up, and your whole body, mind, and spirit soar with elation from within, you just have to get up and dance!

That’s key.  I have many amazing people in my life who make me smile, laugh, and downright cry with gratitude.  I love them all back with equal vigor.  But that’s external.

But you can't love others ‘til you truly love yourself.  When you’re alone.  And you don’t feel the need for anything or anybody but your own awesome company.

Because true love comes from within.

Actually, that love is God energy letting itself be known inside us.  We are all made in the image and likeness of God, and the kingdom of God is within us.

Know that.  Celebrate that.  It will saturate every cell in your being and make you tingle, dance, and shriek with joy in the sunshine.

All by yourself!

Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Diamonds.  Gems.

They sparkled out of my fingertips like fireworks into the keyboard and onto my computer screen, with some of the best writing I’ve done in awhile.  Because my solitary sunshine bliss soothed my soul and rejuvenated my energy for hours of creative, divinely inspired writing.

My gift from God, through me, to you.
