The Life You Save May Be Your Own
A little over a year ago, a stranger in a bustling airport saved Herman Williams' life.
Twenty-six years earlier, his fellow residents did the same.
Were it not for the kindness of friends and strangers alike, Herman would not be here.
So, it's no surprise that he created The Kindness Scale in his recently released memoir. Performing CPR on someone or donating an organ are the highest levels of kindness. A smile or an acknowledging nod to a stranger are the most basic acts.
Herman's memoir, CLEAR! Living the Life You Didn't Dream Of, published last fall, is available everywhere books are sold -- physically and virtually -- including at independent book stores.
