Whether the music was eliciting bliss or an abyss of sadness, listening to it prompted me to marvel at the creative genius of composer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, recipient of seven Tonys, three Grammys, the Grammy Legend Award, an Academy Award, and knighthood from Queen Elizabeth!
It is absolutely enchanting to indulge his magical orchestration of soul-stirring lyrics and melodies that contrast and fuse in a delicious dance in my ears. Many times his music has made me stop singing along and instead sit silently in awe at how it seems to tickle every cell in my body.
So imagine my absolute thrill when I actually met Lord Webber!

“I had talked with other ghostwriters,” he told us between patients, “but the fact that you were willing to come here and experience my world first-hand was the reason I selected Two Sisters to write my book.”
The synergy between him, Catherine, and me was so great, in fact, that we began composing chapter one as we drove to dinner! Dr. Jeneby was driving, I was typing on my laptop in the passenger seat, and Catherine was embellishing our sentences from the back.

I read aloud the words from my computer screen: “‘BARBARA, Beloved wife of the late Norman Gross, passed away…’ She died in February.”
My heart sank. Then it rose, remembering that I had told her how important she was to me and how much I loved her. This, our father instilled in us when we were very young, was the meaning of life: to love and ensure those you loved knew you loved them.
