One Writer's Journey: Meet LaRue Palmer, a Man on Mission to Stop the Type 2 Diabetes Madness
“My mom didn’t have to die,” says Chef and Diabetic Health Coach LaRue Palmer.
He’s on a quest to help people use better nutrition to cure diabetes to save them from a similar fate as his mother: she died from diabetes.
Inspired and determined to write a book to share his life-saving message, LaRue sat down at his computer to write.
But all his brilliant ideas went blank.
“I was overwhelmed,” LaRue said. “I didn’t know where to start. Nothing was flowing. I was so discouraged.”
So he called Two Sisters Writing and Publishing.
And he became our Book Coaching Client.
“It transformed everything,” LaRue said. “I feel like I was floundering on this book-writing journey alone, and getting nowhere but lost. Once Elizabeth and Catherine became my guides, I saw a clear path to write and publish my book. I couldn’t have done it myself, and I’m so grateful for their help.”
Now LaRue is writing his book, Diabetes 2: The Loaded Gun, has a robust gofundme campaign, and we even have a meaningful release date for the book: November 14th, also known as World Diabetes Day, “the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.” [Learn more about WDD.]
We will be chronicling LaRue’s book-writing and publishing journey along the way, to share what it’s like to work with a book coach to bring a book idea to life.
We’ll showcase some exciting moments that LaRue experienced, especially his a-ha moment when he said, “I’m not my target audience.”
New authors often make the mistake of writing what they want to read, but that’s not the recipe for success. The magic sauce is knowing your audience, and what they need to know.
“I have a whole new perspective!” LaRue exclaimed on Saturday evening after reading a book we recommended. “This is transformative!”
Now we want to transform your understanding of the Book Coaching experience.
