Weekly Digest March 31, 2019

Hello!

We are Elizabeth & Catherine—two sisters who celebrate, support, and teach writers!

Here’s how we’re doing that this week.

March 31, 2019

CELEBRATING WRITERS

We are thrilled to announce that author Al Allen, local Detroit broadcast legend, will be honored by Wayne State University.

The event will be held on Friday, April 12 from 6 - 8 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Hall. The event is open to the public. You can learn more at this link.

We had the honor of publishing Al’s memoir last summer, and it has been one of our most successful books to date. It’s a book that will make you laugh and cry and remember every time you ever saw Al broadcasting live from a snowstorm on a highway overpass.

If you can’t make the celebration, be sure to pick up a copy of Al’s book. Anybody living in Metro Detroit for the last 50 years will feel the connection to Al’s stories. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Al’s book also had a wide appeal to those who didn’t see him on their TV every day, too. Though he was just a kid, Al grew up as a part of the history of the Little Rock Nine. And so much more!

You can find Al’s book wherever books are sold, and (of course), here on amazon.com. It’s available in hardcover, paperback, and ebook.

SUPPORTING WRITERS

Our Writing Club is growing!

Much like study hall, we converge with writers four times a week to get a solid of hour of writing done!

Mondays at 7 p.m & 10 p.m.

Wednesdays at 9 a.m.

Fridays at noon (All times Eastern Daylight Time)

On Saturdays, all Writing Club members receive a Weekly Accountability Check-in form from us. We’ve heard from Writing Club friends that this quick reflection on the writing weeks helps set goals for the next week. It’s manageable when it’s week-to-week!

The #1 response to “How do you measure your writing success” is “I showed up.”

That’s why we started the Writing Club. To give ourselves and our writer-friends a designated time and place to show up and commit to an hour of solid writing.

Please join us! Then open your planner and write Writing Club once, twice, three, or four times a week. With a scheduled appointment to write, you’re going to show up, aren’t you!? Your financial investment of $50/month also helps keep you accountable.

All sessions held via zoom. Don’t worry: writers are off camera! To download zoom for free, follow this link.
